David's Burgers Delayed in River Market

When last we checked with David “Alan” Bubbus Jr., owner of the David’s Burgers chain, he was hopeful that his outpost in the River Market downtown might open this month.

Well, that’s not going to happen.

But Bubbus is pushing forward and provided your Whispers staff this update:

David’s Burgers has a Board of Adjustment meeting on Monday. “We will get sign approvals, primarily in this Board of Adjustment meeting,” he said. And once those have been obtained, “we’ll be working on finalizing our lease and getting all that completed, and then we should start our remodel.”

The restaurant is to occupy the former Boulevard Bread space in the Dickinson Hardware Co. building at the east end of Ottenheimer Market Hall, operated by the Little Rock Convention & Visitors Bureau.

“You wouldn’t want to start building that out and then them tell you you couldn’t do it,” Bubbus said.
